Rationale is certified as a Great Place to Work™
Strategic brand and content agency Rationale is officially certified as a Great Place to Work™.
At Rationale, we have prioritised creating and reinforcing a workplace culture of respect, understanding, collaboration and trust. Our top scoring impact area within our BCorp certification is ‘Workers’, which evaluates our contributions to the financial security, health and safety, wellness, career development and engagement and satisfaction of our team. Now, being certified as a Great Place to Work means our employees have reported an overwhelmingly positive experience.
We chose to certify for three main reasons – to recognise our employees’ collective effort in creating a culture we are all proud of and enjoy being part of, to develop a benchmark we can track to improve our employee experience as we continue to grow, and to attract and retain talent who share our values.
Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture, and outlines what it means to be certified:
“A great workplace is one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in the work they do, and enjoy the people they work with. To be truly great, that experience must be consistent for every employee, no matter who they are, what they do, or where they work.”
The certification process uses a data-driven model that measures employee experience in the form of a survey. Topics include a sense of community, fairness, innovation, leadership behaviour, physical environments and growth opportunities.
Our overall score of 87% surpasses the 60% threshold for certification. In particular, we excelled with scores of 100% in areas of community, inclusivity and workplace safety.
Similarly, we achieved 98% in the ‘Team’ category, described as “the pride that employees develop in their team, the team’s accomplishments and their willingness to give extra for the benefit of the team”.
For ‘camaraderie’, we scored 94%, representing “employees’ sense of enjoyment in the workplace by assessing the level of intimacy they experience, the freedom they feel to express themselves, the sense of hospitality in the workplace environment and the extent to which people feel they are a members of a community”
Rowan Morrison, Co-Managing Director, says: “Over the last five years, we have driven our success by hiring and retaining talented and dedicated team members. We’re proud of our low staff turnover rate of 6.25% against our industry’s benchmark of 30%. By implementing initiatives such as a social committee, our annual Away Day and company-wide health insurance, our commitment to a positive workplace culture goes hand-in-hand with our employer brand, where having a happy, engaged team powers our overall business productivity and growth.”
